In what many  have described as a  ‘pay back time for loyalty,’ the pendulum of the All Progressive  Congress’s ticket,  to contest the Ikeja Local Government Chairmanship seat in the Lagos state scheduled LG election in July, may have tilted fully to the side of  Mrs Dania Odunsi Sulola.

Odunsi who will be contesting for the APC ticket in Ikeja at the party’s scheduled primary election on Saturday, 10 May, 2025, is a popular  market leader in Ikeja also reputed to be a loyal party member. She has served the party in different capacities and also enjoys the rare privilege of being the daughter of a  revered Lagos political heavyweight, Late Alhaji LB Odunsi.

According to Dania Odunsi,

her main motivation for aspiring to lead Ikeja LG is her belief in the potentials of the LG thus, fuelling  her in interest in championing efforts to improve the quality of education, ensure all residents have access to affordable and quality healthcare services and investing in infrastructure to make Ikeja become a force within Lagos state.

She intends to prioritize, “the development and maintenance of our roads, drainage systems,  and public spaces, ensuring that our community has the necessary infrastructure for a thriving future”.

Banking on her intimidating political profile anchored on party loyality, DOS, as she is fondly called, while declaring her support for economic opportunities, also  promised to actively seek to attract businesses to the Ikeja Local government, create job opportunities, and empower local entrepreneurs through initiatives such as skills development programs and access to funding. She pledged to work to build strong relationships with residents, actively listen to their concerns, and ensure that their voices are heard in the decision-making process.

DOS, a  Leader in ikeja Local government till date was APC Returning officer for House of Assembly in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area; former APC Returning Officer for Senatorial election (Yayi) in Alimosho Local Government; former Central Working Committee member for APC in Ikeja Federal Constituency for Buhari/Osibajo election; former member for Community Affairs in Sanwoolu/Hamzat 2023 election and APC Apex Leader in ward F Ikeja Local Government till date.

DOS is also the reigning

President of Concerned Traders of Alade Market in Ikeja Local government.
