The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) is set to host a two-day sensitisation programme aimed at strengthening the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem in Alimosho Local Government.
The initiative, scheduled for Wednesday, 11 March, and Thursday, 12 March, 2026, is designed to encourage small business owners to access government-backed loans offered at a highly competitive interest rate of 9 percent per annum.

The programme will also feature structured mentoring sessions on financial management to equip participants with essential business and accounting skills.
Speaking on the initiative, the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim, reaffirmed the council’s commitment to partnering with LSETF to ensure the success of the programme. He noted that the local government will actively mobilise residents to take advantage of the opportunity, describing the intervention as a strategic step towards sustainable economic growth at the grassroots.

Hon. Akinpelu further recalled a recent empowerment initiative where the council disbursed ₦100,000 each to 500 beneficiaries to either support existing businesses or enable new start-ups. Beneficiaries were advised to exercise prudence in managing the funds, and according to him, several participants have since recorded commendable progress. In recognition of their performance, the council intends to recommend some of them for the LSETF loan scheme to further expand and strengthen their businesses.
