Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has sacked the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Olanike Adeyemo with immediate effect, in a major cabinet reshuffle announced on Monday, 5 January, 2026, reports thegazellenews.com
The Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, made the announcement through a statement issued on Monday, 6 January, 2026 in Ibadan, the state capital.
According to the statement, the Governor appointed Prof Musibau Babatunde as the new Secretary to the State Government, SSG.
Similarly, the Governor moved Temilolu Ashamu from his position as state Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources to take charge of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
Makinde also announced his Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, Ademola Aderinto, as a Commissioner-designate, who will consequently be presented to the state House of Assembly for screening.
The Governor equally appointed Abiodun Adedoja as Special Adviser on Energy Security and Kolawole Elijah Akanmu as Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.
