The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that a 54-year-old man, identified as Benjamin, has taken his life in the Agege area of the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed this on Monday, 16 September, 2024 in Lagos, said that the incident happened on the morning of Sunday, 15 September, 2024
According to the police image- maker, the elder brother to the deceased reported the incident at the Elere Police Station that his brother committed suicide by hanging himself to death in the store of their house.
“Officers of the division immediately visited the scene and the deceased was lowered and taken to the Orile-Agege General Hospital, where he was certified dead.
“No mark of violence was found on the body of the deceased, ” Hundeyin said.
According to him, the body had been removed from Oriole-Agee Hospital and deposited at Mainland Hospital, Yaba for autopsy.
He added that detectives were investigating the incident.
