A man, yet to be identified, reportedly fell from one of the upper floors of the iconic 26-storey Cocoa House building in Ibadan, Oyo State, in the early hours of Monday. The incident caused widespread shock among passersby and workers in the area.

Eyewitnesses described the terrifying moment, with some initially mistaking the falling figure for a bird.

“When it landed, I realised it was a human being. I was so stunned that I couldn’t even record the moment on my phone,” one witness recounted.

Another said the man struck a roof near the security post before hitting the ground, calling it a “terrifying sight.”

Emergency services responded swiftly, and the victim was taken to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, for urgent medical attention.

Odu’a Investment Company Limited, which manages Cocoa House, confirmed the incident through a statement by its Head of Branding and Communication, Mr. Victor Ayetoro.

He noted that the company is fully cooperating with authorities as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fall continue.
