Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has disclosed that most men who approach her for relationships are primarily interested in her body rather than in building a genuine connection with her.
The Grammy-winning singer made the disclosure in an interview with YouTuber, Korty EO, last year, lamenting that many of her suitors were driven by ulterior motives rather than sincere interest.
She said she would have preferred deeper and more genuine connections instead.
Tems revisited the subject on Monday during a TikTok livestream, where she announced that she had “left the streets,” a term commonly used to describe women who are getting married or are no longer searching for love. She, however, did not elaborate on the specifics of her new status.
She explained that her decision stemmed from frustration with men who wasted her time, stressing that such experiences were now behind her.
“I don’t like it when guys waste my time. But for me, never again. I don’t have that problem anymore. I have left the streets; I wouldn’t even say I was ever on the streets,” she said.
