The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has fired the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, reports thegazellenews.com

Thegazellenews.com learnt that the decision came via a minor cabinet shake-up announced by the Governor.
The statement, announcing the cabinet shake-up, signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado was released to journalists in the early hours of Monday, 9 February, 2026.

According to the Adviser, “The decision re-emphasizes the government’s resolve to periodically effect changes in order to continuously inject fresher ideas to strengthen governance, reposition the cabinet for improved service delivery, and ensure the effective implementation of Government policies and programmes across the state”.
The statement added that, “Governor Mohammed expresses his deep appreciation to Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima for the services rendered to Bauchi State and wishes him well in his future endeavours. He further reassures the people of Bauchi State of his administration’s continued commitment to peace, security, and good governance.
A replacement will be announced in due course”.
The sacked Commissioner is to leave office with immediate effect while his replacement will be announced later. He is expected to hand over to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, reports thegazellenews.com
Reports from Bauchi that many residents are happy with the Governor’s decision noting that the sacked Commissioner has not been performing well in the duty assigned to him.
