Ligue 1 club, Montpellier have completed the signing of former Flying Eagles forward Jerome Akor.

The striker, who signed a four-year contract, has been assigned jersey No. 8.

Akor joined the former Ligue 1 champions from Norwegian club Lillestrom.

Montpellier paid Lillestrom €5.5 million to secure his services.

Akor will be the second Nigerian to play for Montpelier, following in the footsteps of former Super Eagles winger John Utaka.

He expressed his delight upon joining his new club and looked forward to meeting his new teammates.

“I have a very good feeling when I arrive here. I think I have come to the right place at the right time to take a step forward. I can’t wait to meet everyone and start this adventure,” he told the club’s website.

Akor will look to make his debut for Montpelier against Le Havre this weekend.
