Newly FUTO VC Appoints Coordinator, Executive Assistant, 13 Special Assistants

The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Professor Ikechukwu N. S. Dozie has approved the appointment of a Coordinator, an Executive Assistant, a Personal Assistant, a Personal Secretary and 13 Special Assistants to serve in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.

The appointments were conveyed in a memorandum issued by the Office of the Registrar, Monday,22 June,2026, and referenced FUT/REG/CR/CIR 4. Addressed to the university community, the circular stated that the Vice-Chancellor approved the appointments to strengthen the administration and operations of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.

Under the new arrangement, Dr. Pamela Ogamba was appointed Coordinator, Office of the Vice-Chancellor/Secretary Management, while Dr. Innocent Eze emerged as Executive Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor. Mr. Gerald Ajero was named Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, with Dr. Mrs. Oluchi Onyedim appointed Personal Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor.

The memorandum further announced the appointment of Mr. Ukwujiagu Chinedu as Special Assistant (Special Duties), Mrs. Olive Ngozi Amuzuo as Special Assistant (Protocol) and Engr. Fabian Nwachukwuas Special Assistant (Projects).

Also appointed were Engr. Modestus O. Anusi as Special Assistant (Student Support Services I), Comrd. Godson C. Okereke as Special Assistant (Student Support Services II), Dr. Ikechukwu Ogbonna as Special Assistant (Electronic Media), Comrd. Fred Nwaozor as Special Assistant (Print Media), Mr. Kelechi Nwoga as Special Assistant (Communications) and Barr. Obinna Igwe as Special Assistant (General Duties).

The Registrar said the appointments had received the Vice-Chancellor’s approval and urged members of the university community to take note of the development.

The appointments significantly expand the administrative structure of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, with portfolios spanning protocol, projects, communications, media, student support services and general duties. 

The development is expected to shape the operational direction of the new administration as it settles into office.
