Former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro has ignited his interest in returning to the Upper Legislative Chamber to represent the Lagos West Senatorial District, reports thegazellenews.com.
Obanikoro, also a former Nigerian High Commisioner to Ghana, is a making a fresh bid having been persuaded to step down for the incumbent, Senator Olamilekan Adeola in 2019 by the party leadership.
As at the time of writing this report, he remains the only aspirant that has publicly indicated his intention to run.
Already, thegazellenews.com learnt authoritatively that Senator Obanikoro has officially informed the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Presidential Aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of his intention.
Already, posters of the experienced politician have flooded most of the local governments in the senatorial district, the most populous in the country.
Thegazellenews.com can report that the posters are seen in Badagry, Alimoso, Ojo, Amuwo Odofin and Ajeromi-Ifelodun local governments among others.
