Former Chairman of Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area, Alhaji Abdur Rasheed Abiodun Mafe, has said that his experience and achievements in office will add value to his political aspiration towards the 2023 general elections.
Alhaji Mafe is aspiring to represent Alimoso Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2023 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking exclusively to The Gazelle News.com on Tuesday, 5 April, 2022, Mafe stated that he is a grassroots politician who has gathered experience from various developmental level which have given deep knowledge of the Federal Constituency.
“I started as CDA chairman, graduated to becoming the CDC chairman and later I was appointed and elected Deputy Executive Secretary and Vice Chairman of Mosan-Okunola LCDA respectively before I was elected the Chairman of the Council where I served for two terms. I have deep knowledge of this Federal Constituency. The people know me and I’ve been living among them since for decades,” he said.
It is an open secret that during his two term reign as Chairman of Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Mafe became arguably the most performing chairman ever in the history of the council.
The Rauf Aregbesola Comprehensive Primary Health Centre at Okunola became a reference point for primary health care delivery in the state while another comprehensive health centre he initiated at Abesan Estate is serving the residents of the estate now even though his successors refused to complete the project.
During his time, Mafe gave full employment to 260 people, the only council chairman to have done so while many roads were rehabilitated and constructed.
It was the Mafe administration that rehabilitated and reconstructed an abandoned building at Gate bus stop and handed it over to the police, it is now the Area Command for Area P Police Command.
“We’ve established a record of service to the people and we’re coming with huge political experience especially at the grassroots. We hope to bring quality representation because we know what the people and want,” he said.
