Nigeria has been ranked as the third most terrorised country in the world, reports The Gazelle News.com.
In its ranking of the 10 most terrorised countries of the world in 2019 by the Global Terrorism Index, Nigeria was ranked third coming behind only Afghanistan and Iraq.
According to the Global Terrorism Index, Nigeria’s ranking was aided by increased terrorist activities by Boko Haram and increased bandit activities.
Apart from Nigeria, two other African countries were named in the top 10: Somalia ranked 6 and Democratic Republic of Congo ranked 10.
Other countries in the top 10 are: Syria ranked 4, Pakistan ranked 5, India ranked 7, Yemen ranked 8 and The Philippines ranked 9.
