The death toll from the coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria is soaring towards the century mark, The Gazelle News.com reports.
The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported on its official Twitter handle on Tuesday, 5 May, 2020 that the death toll from the pandemic has risen to 98, two short of the century mark.
The centre also reported that 148 new cases were reported nationwide on Tuesday bringing the total in Nigeria to 2,950.
Of the new cases reported, Lagos has 43, Kano 32, Zamfara 14, FCT 10, Katsina 9, Taraba 7, Borno and Ogun 6 each, Oyo 5, the trio of Edo, Kaduna and Bauchi 3 each, Adamawa and Gombe 2 each, and one each for Plateau, Sokoto and Kebbi.
