The Conference of Local Government and Local Council Development Area (CONFERENCE 57) has described reports of parallel congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state as “exercise in futility.”
Chairman of Conference 57, Kolade Alabi urged Lagosians to dismiss the reports, saying the presence of the representatives from the APC headquarters and the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) put lies to the “shenanigans that were said to have taken place in other centres”.
According to him, all the 57 local council Chairmen and their executive members were at the Onikan main congress centre including state executive members and members of the national and state assemblies among others.
He hailed APC members for successfully conducted a peaceful congress.
He, however, hailed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, who went round to ensure everything went smoothly.

He congratulated the new APC Lagos Chapter Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi and his team, for their emergence.
Alabi, who is the Chairman of Bariga Council Development Area hailed Adebayo Adelabu-led Lagos State Congress Committee for an excellent outing.
