Pastor Ezekiel Atang, Founder and Head Pastor of God’s House of Refuge Church has been confirmed dead.
The news of his death was posted by Pastor Charles Awuzie, his colleague in the ministry who is based in South Africa.
On February 21, 2022, his friend wrote on Facebook:
“Rest in Peace Pastor Ezekiel Atang.
I remember how we connected…
On 4th May 2013, at 2.30 pm your FB account was hacked and you contacted me by 2.39 pm. By 3 pm the same day, we caught the hackers and that became a bonding point – unfortunately, when I dumped organized religion, we lost that beautiful relationship. However, I loved you and your work from a distance.
Farewell, dear friend. The world has lost a great preacher.”
The sex, relationship, and marriage expert reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday, 19 February, 2022 and died shortly after.
According to reports, he was said to have been on a trip to Anambra State, precisely Onitsha, where he was to give his teachings at a church.
The late father of three was a preacher, an author, a relationship expert, and a general overseer, among many other things. He used to host a programme for singles in Akwa Ibom State (Uyo) every month.
Pastor Ezekiel Atang also started an NGO called ‘Fresh Wine For Couples International’, a cause committed to improving the quality of marriages and relationships with the help of Schools for Marriage, seminars, and different community conferences.
He founded his church, God’s House Of Refuge on the 16th of April, 2006, and kept growing and impacting his followers with his teachings.
Pastor Ezekiel Atang has written books like ‘Overcoming Masturbation’, ‘Romantic Wisdom’, ‘Understanding Sex’, ‘How To Be Found’, ‘Lord, Why Am I Still Single’, ‘Road Signs To Destiny’, and a lot more.
If death had spared him, he would have turned 50 by Monday, 14 March, 2022. Many of his followers are heartbroken by this sudden development.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Dara Atang – who is a medical practitioner and a minister too – and his three children, Levi, Olive, and Ephraim.
