Unknown gunmen attacked a filling station close to the St Mary’s Catholic Church, Nnokwa, Idemilil South Local Government Area of Anambra State at the weekend, killing two persons and inflicting severe injuries on many others.
It was gathered that the gunmen shot the Manager of the station and his friend dead, while many others around were wounded.
Though no reason was given for the attack, an eyewitness said the victims went to buy food before they were killed.
The source said: “Tears flowed freely at Nnokwa as both men were gunned down by gunmen.
“The manager of the filling station always sold diesel during the sit-at-home every Monday,” the eyewitness stated.
When contacted, the state Police spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, said the Command had not received such report, but assured that the Command would make enquiries and take necessary actions when confirmed.
