No fewer than six countries: Nigeria, Senegal, Morocco, Ghana, Sierra Leone and DR Congo have qualified for this year’s 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter-final stage in Egypt.
This follows the conclusion of Thursday, 8 May, 2025 group stage fixtures.
Senegal defeated DR Congo 2-0, while Ghana won 1-0 against Central African Republic.
The remaining two countries that will join the six in the last-8 will be determined on Friday, 9 May, 2025.
Tanzania will trade tackles with Egypt, while South Africa will face Zambia.
The winners will qualify for the quarter-final which will commence on Monday, 12 May, 2025.
