Wale Tinubu, Group Chief Executive, Oando Group, will today, Wednesday, 25th June, 2025, join other world leaders in Abuja to speak at the Afreximbank Annual Meetings.

Mr Tinubu, will join other leaders at Plenary Session 4 to discuss ideas on “Leveraging a Common Heritage – The Afreximbank Caribbean Initiative” and explore economic ties between Africa and the Caribbean built on shared history and prosperity.

Having held its first annual meetings in Nigeria 32 years ago, AAM has come full circle to gather for this year’s meeting to be hosted in Abuja, Nigeria.

The Meetings and associated activities will take place from the 25 – 27 June, 2025, commencing with three days of seminars, engaging plenaries, break-out sessions and side-events. AAM2025 will then culminate with a closed session of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 28 June.

AAM2025 in Abuja will reflect, renew and reinforce the courageous and resilient advances Afreximbank has made through the years considering the challenges and opportunities Africa faces as a continent. Afreximbank will look back upon the Bank’s many remarkable achievements and its visionary leadership as it deliberate on the theme – “Building the Future on Decades of Resilience” – to inform its continued endeavours to transform trade, attract investment and unlock economic prosperity for Africa.

The Afreximbank Annual Meetings is renowned as a uniquely multi-faceted event that cuts across the private/public sector, with deal-making, lobbying, entertainment presentations and more alongside the main plenaries.

The event welcomes African and Caribbean leaders, senior government officials, African and non-African policymakers, corporate and business leaders, bankers, entrepreneurs, academics and other thought leaders.

Others that are expected at the event include the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of African Export-Import Bank; H.E. Prof. Benedict O. Oramah,

Other high profile guests are the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Federal Republic of Nigeria; Mr. Wale Edun, Founder & President/Chief Executive, Dangote Group; Mr. Aliko Dangote, Chairman United Bank for Africa; Mr Tony Elumelu, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arab Republic of Egypt; Hon. Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty, Former President, Republic of Ghana; Nana Akufo-Ado, Executive Vice President, Intra-African Trade and Export-Development Bank, Afreximbank and Mrs Kanayo Awani among several others.
