The Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the dedicated leadership of Hon. Seyi Jakande, today held a special plenary to bid farewell to Hon. Zainab Adeshewa Shotayo, the esteemed Councillor representing Ward C3, who sadly passed away on Monday, 18 August, 2025.
Recall that Chairman Jakande had earlier visited the family to offer his condolences and pledged to continue supporting them throughout his tenure.


In his heartfelt condolence address, Hon. Jakande eloquently portrayed Shotayo as a passionate advocate for the community, emphasizing her unwavering commitment to representing her constituents and her keen understanding of local challenges. He urged all present to honour her memory by continuing her vision for a better community, expressing deep condolences to the Shotayo/Kosoko family and praying for their strength during this difficult time.
The Leader of the House, Hon. Lekan Adeyi, shared touching remarks, describing Shotayo as a matriarch whose legacy is woven into the very fabric of the community—one that will be cherished for generations. Hon. Haruna Adeosun, Deputy Leader, expressed that her absence has left an indelible void in the hearts of many.

Majority Leader, Hon. Lukman Akinniyi reminisced about their close friendship, vowing that Shotayo’s spirit would continue to resonate among them.

Other council members, including Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Bode Adeosun; Hon. Taye Alakan; Hon. Ipaye Ibrahim; and Hon. Adisa Rahman, added their sentiments, reflecting on her unwavering spirit as they bid her a heartfelt farewell.
Political party leaders, including Hon. Ismail Babatunde (TUNKAZ), Council Party Chairman; Hon. M.A. Olaniyan, party secretary; and Hon. Yaya Mustapha, among others, united in solidarity to honour Shotayo’s contributions.
The Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA Chairman not only honoured Shotayo’s impactful life but also celebrated her contributions, emphasizing the need for each attendee to cherish her enduring legacy.
