Okin Biscuits has resumed production at its factory in Offa, Kwara State, with biscuits rolling off one of its rehabilitated production lines for the first time in 17 years.
The company announced the development on Wednesday, 26 August, 2026 through its official Facebook handle, describing the production milestone as a major step towards returning its products to the Nigerian market.
Okin Biscuits said the production line was rebuilt after its cables, frequency drives, contactors, motors and other electronic components were stolen, leaving the facility unable to operate.
The company, however, noted that further testing, calibration and rehabilitation were still required before production could fully resume and the familiar Okin taste and quality could be restored.
It said the successful production run marked significant progress in its efforts to bring the biscuits back to the Nigerian market after the prolonged shutdown.
The development also raises hopes of the return of the familiar Okin brand to consumers following 17 years of inactivity at the Offa factory.
Okin Biscuits said it would continue with the necessary technical work to restore the production line and return the company to full-scale production.
