Former Super Eagles captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha has emerged the 77th best player to have ever played in the prestigious English Premiership League, reports thegazellenews.com

This medium can also revealed that the former Bolton Wanderers playmaker was the only Nigerian player included in the elite list.

Globally-respected football magazine, Four Four Two conducted a poll voted for by journalists to decide the 100 best footballers to have ever played in the English Premiership League since its inception in 1992.

Liverpool player, Mohammed Salah was the highest ranked African player on the list coming at 5th while the best PL player of all time is former France and Arsenal skipper, Thierry Henry.

Other African players on the list are: Didier Drogba, Côte D’Ivoire and Chelsea, 30th; Yaya Toure, Côte D’Ivoire and Manchester City, 37th; Riyadh Mahrez, Algeria and Leicester/Manchester City, 59th; and Sadio Mane, Senegal and Southampton/Liverpool who was ranked 72nd.

Former Manchester United ace, Cristiano Ronaldo trailed Henry, another United former striker, Wayne Rooney was third; top scorer in PL history, Alan Shearer was 4th; Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City was 6th; he was followed by another ex-United skipper, Eric Cantona; former Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane, was 8th; another United former star, Roy Keane was 9th while ex-Chelsea player, Frank Lampard completed the top 10.
