Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi and his wife, Firdaus, have welcomed their first child together.

Alli Ibrahim, the Press Secretary to the monarch, announced the arrival of the new baby in a statement last Wednesday, the statement reads “Oluwo expressed appreciation to Olodumare (God) for blessing my home with the handsome, promising child.

“Carrying a baby for months is tasking. I congratulate my queen on the arrival of a new child. She deserves accolades.

“I have strong trust in whatever comes out of her womb. The child shall be greater and be prosperous than me.

“Once again, congratulations to my beautiful, elegant, respectful and loving queen Firdaus.”

The Oluwo of Iwo, after ending his marriage with his Jamaican wife, Chanel Chin, got married to the 27 year of then Kano-born princess, Firdaus Abdullahi,in March 2022 at a colourful ceremony in the ancient city.

Queen Firdaus is the daughter of the late ‘Madakin Kano’, Abdullahi Sarki Sani Yola, and a granddaughter of late Emir Ado Bayero.

The Queen who holds a diploma in catering from the School of Management Studies, Kano has kept a low profile since, as she was hardly seen in public except on a few occasions when he received guests in the palace with her husband.
