Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have stormed some parts of Akure, the Ondo State capital, to prevent vote buying in the ongoing governorship election in the state.

Some of the operatives were spotted at the Sacred Heart Primary School, Cathedral, Akure.

Thegazellenews.com recalls that the election is taking place across 3,933 polling units in the 18 LGAs of Ondo State.

Prior to the election, there were reports that some political parties were planning to influence voters’choices with cash.

The election started at about 8:30 am in several polling units while some places experienced delays due to late arrival of election materials.
