A defining moment for Alimosho politics took place on Sunday, 2 August, 2026, at the Governor’s residence, as a high-level All Progressives Congress (APC) reconciliation meeting brought together the constituency’s key stakeholders under one roof, and closed a chapter of division that many feared would linger into 2027.

The meeting was chaired by the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the state Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.

Also present were the state Deputy Governor and APC Governorship Candidate for the state, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; and Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Prince Tajudeen Olusi.

Also present were: the Apex Leader for Alimoso, GAC and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SSAP-SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire; Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo; Director General of Grassroots Mobilisation for Tinubu (GMT), Honourable Bisi Yusuf; the state Commissioner for Wealth Creation, Honourable Ajigbotafe; and all Alimoso council Chairmen.

At the end of the day’s discussion, both Princess Orelope-Adefulire and Honourable Yusuf eventually endorsed Olabisi Adebajo popularly called Abisco as APC’s candidate for the Alimoso Federal Constituency.

In a moment many in the room described as deeply emotional, Hon. Orelope-Adefulire offered ABISCO her blessing, prayed for her, and wished her well ahead of the 2027 general election. Hon. Bisi Yusuff joined her in voicing full support for ABISCO’s candidacy.

“I am deeply grateful to Hon. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire and Hon. Bisi Yusuff for their prayers, their blessing, and their trust. Alimosho is bigger than any one of us, and today reminded me why unity matters more than anything else. I do not take this lightly, and I will continue to work to deserve it,” Abisco said.

This reconciliation caps a month of visible work by the ABISCO team across the constituency; a grassroots voter registration drive that reached all wards in Alimoso, with over 1,000 community mobilisers facilitating the registration of more than 20,000 new voters, culminating in the Alimosho Youth Summit, which brought together over 2,000 young people.
