In furtherance of his administration’s resolve to address infrastructural deficits and enhance economic activities within the council area, the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede-Almaroof, has commenced the rehabilitation of Market Lane at Popoola Junction in Ewu Ward. The project forms part of the chairman’s broader commitment to improving road infrastructure and ensuring seamless movement of goods and services across the local government.
Market Lane is a strategic route within the local government, serving as a designated night market hub and a centre for various commercial activities. During the daytime, the road also functions as an important access route for vehicular movement, linking traders, residents, and customers to surrounding areas and adjoining streets, including the popular Beesam Junction, Akanni Sowunmi, and others.

Over time, the deplorable condition of the road had severely hindered vehicular movement, almost bringing activities along the corridor to a standstill. The poor state of the road negatively impacted traders, transporters, and residents, leading to delays, increased transportation costs, and reduced patronage for businesses operating within the market axis.
The rehabilitation work, when completed, is expected to restore ease of access, boost commercial activities, and improve the overall outlook of the area.

A trader, Mrs. Ngozi Tobechukwu, commended the chairman for his intervention, saying, “We are very happy with what Kendoo is doing. This road used to be very bad, but when the work is completed, it will greatly help to boost our business. May God bless the chairman.”
