The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has declared its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Hon. Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 election.
APGA’s gubernatorial candidate, Prince Adesina Adeyemi-Doro, announced his withdrawal from the race in favour of Oyebamiji during a political gathering in Osogbo on Saturday,8 August, 2026.
Adeyemi-Doro said the decision followed extensive consultations with the party’s executives and members across the state, noting that after watching the candidates closely, he reached an alignment with his state chairman, secretary and other senior members to join the APC as fellow progressives.
Responding, Oyebamiji thanked Adeyemi-Doro for the endorsement and assured the defecting members they would be fully integrated into his administration if elected, pledging to work with them to rescue Osun State from what he described as the current bad government. He also disclosed plans to reach out to other political parties to build a broader coalition ahead of the poll.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to President Bola Tinubu, Ambassador Issah Adedotun Niniola, commended Adeyemi-Doro for the move, describing it as a clear indicator that the APC was poised for victory in both the August 15 governorship election and the 2027 presidential poll.
