In a significant show of support with unwavering commitment, dedication and determination, notable leaders of Osogbo Local Government on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, welcomed with unprecedented enthusiasm AMBO Grassrooters, a support group comprising past and present Local Government Chairmen and chairpersons working for the actualisation of the governorship ambition of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.
The group under the leadership of Elder Deji Agboola, former Chairman of Ede South Local Government, took its consultation, sensitisation, and familiarisation tour to Osogbo Local Government with the aims of canvassing support for Oyebamiji among relevant stakeholders in the local government and engaging party faithful in issue-based and intellectual discussions.
Hon. Saheed Onibonokuta, who holds the double positions of Chairman of APC in Osogbo and the local government, received the AMBO Grassrooters delegation on behalf of Osogbo Local Government leaders under the headship of Chief Adegboye Raimi.
Onibonokuta remarked that Osogbo Local Government is a fertile land that produced notable political leaders in terms of appointments and elections into various political offices, particularly in the current dispensation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR
Hon. Onibonokuta was optimistic and confident that if Oyebamiji is elected as the next Executive Governor of Osun State, he will resolve and fix all inequalities emanating from administrative, managerial, and financial ineptitude.
According to him, Oyebamiji will anchor his administration on fairness, equity and justice and will serve the people of Osun State through good governance, infrastructure renewal, economic renaissance, job creation, financial re-engineering, empowerment, human capital and sustainable development.
Hon.Oye Adebayo, erstwhile Chairman of Boripe LG, who spoke on behalf of AMBO Grassrooters, harped on the importance of the people of Osogbo as the stronghold of progressive politics, considering population and voting pattern for the All Progressives Congress (APC) for several years.
He appealed to the people of Osogbo to support Bola Oyebamiji’s gubernatorial aspiration.
Hon. Wale Popoola was of the view that the people of Osogbo and its environs, as the capital, should not be marginalised or taken for granted, considering their voting pattern for the Progressive Party, voting strength.
Notable leaders like Chief Taye Ajibola, Hon.Alabi Ropo, who is the APC Party Chairman, Osogbo West LCDA, and Alhaja Kudirat Abeke Nafiu Abeke, a frontline women leader, prayed and offered spiritual blessings for the aspiration of Oyebamiji.
