A member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Irewole/Isokan Constituency, Abiola Ibrahim, has been confronted by security operatives after he was found with a large group of intending voters at a private residence in the Ikire area of the state.
A viral video circulating on social media early on the morning of Saturday, 15 August, 2026 shows that incident occurred early Saturday morning, as voting processes commenced across the state’s local government areas for the Osun State governorship election.
In the video, armed and uniformed police officers were seen questioning the lawmaker at the residence, which he identified as belonging to his late father, Raji Ibrahim.
The individuals who were said to be numbering about 146 were also seen sitted on the floor as the security operatives interrogated Ibrahim.
When asked by security agents about the presence of the massive crowd gathered at the property on election day, Ibrahim stated that they were present to vote in the ongoing election.
“They are voters for the election happening today,” the lawmaker informed the officers on site.
When pressed by the officers on whether the individuals gathered at the residence were registered voters residing within the local Ikire community, Ibrahim acknowledged that the crowd comprised both locals and outsiders.
“Some of them are indigenes from outside. I did not hire them. I did not promise anything,” he explained.
Security operatives further interrogated the lawmaker on the political affiliation of the voters and whether he was mobilising them for a specific candidate.
“Voting is their choice. I’m not their agent,” Ibrahim responded, while confirming his membership of the Accord Party.
Footage from the scene showed security operatives holding Permanent Voter Cards which Ibrahim said belonged to the voters.
