Billionaire businessman and First Holdings Chairman, Femi Otedola, has expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying he remains proud of the President’s “bold and forward-thinking reforms”.
Otedola made the remarks after a private dinner with Tinubu in Paris, France, on Monday night, 28 September, 2026 where the businessman said they discussed the President’s economic reforms and their reported impact on Nigeria.
In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, 29 September, 2026 accompanied by a photograph of himself with Tinubu, Otedola said the reforms had placed the Nigerian economy “firmly on a path of sustainable growth”.
He cited the inclusion of top Nigerian companies in the FTSE Russell Frontier 50 Index, the Nigerian Exchange’s reported rise to historic highs, increased foreign direct investment and renewed economic confidence among the indicators of progress.
Otedola also pointed to a more unified and stable foreign exchange market and foreign reserves of about $55 billion, among other developments, which he said reflected the impact of the administration’s policies.
“I remain proud of you, Mr. President!” Otedola wrote.
Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Tuesday after a four-week leave that began on August 30, when he departed Abuja for London.
The President spent about a week in London before travelling to Paris, where he held meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré.
Bolloré has business interests spanning Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.
According to Tinubu’s aides, the President is expected to arrive in Lagos on Tuesday, where he will mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1 before returning to Abuja at the weekend.
