The family of the late strongman of Oyo politics, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, has protested his exclusion from the list of prominent persons honoured during the activities marking the 50th year anniversary of the creation of the State.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman, Committee on Award Ceremonies on Important Personalities in Oyo State, Hon. Saheed Fijabi, signed by Professor Asiwaju Adedibu, Head of the Adedibu family, the family restated some of the contributions of their patriarch to development and growth of the state.
These include: his role in the establishment of the Airport in Ibadan and the victory of Basorun MKO ABIOLA during the primary preceding the 1993 general elections.
They, therefore called for immediate redress of the situation.
