Defection tsunami has yet again visited the Kebbi state chapter of the l People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in as Governor Idris received into the All Progressives Congress (APC) fold a Ward Chairman of Nassarawa1, Alhaji Ibrahim namzaba who has been a staunch PDP member for 20 years.
The defectors included former state spokesperson of the opposition party, Alhaji Ibrahim uUmmai along side key hitherto uncompromising members of the PDP in Kebbi state.
In a short video seen by thegazellenews.com correspondent, the ward chairman who once expelled the current PDP National Chairman Kabiru Tanimu Turaki from the party, was flanked by Chairman, Kebbi state Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro who officially received them into the party.
In his short speech, Ibrahim Namzaba thanked Allah for the decision to join the ruling party courtesy of Faruku Yaro”.
The defectors pledged to work towards the 2027 reelection of the incumbent governor Idris who they described as a unifier and a bridge builder who is working to bring people together to work for the progress of Kebbi state.
The key members’ defection to the ruling party mark the beginning of a gradual emptying of the opposition party PDP in Kebbi.
Their defection sent shock waves to the opposition having been in fierce opposition for well over 20 years in Kebbi state.
