Goddy Nnorom, who heads a 7-man disciplinary committee has announced that it discovered that a man was allegedly nominated as a Women Leader in the Isuamawu Ward 4 of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Isuikwuato local government area of Abia State.

The Goddy Nnorom-led PDP disciplinary committee’s also said that an aged woman was also picked as Youth Leader, to the outrage of women and youth members of the party in the Ward 4.

To this end, the disciplinary committee has recommended the suspension of the members involved in the anomaly and those causing crises in the PDP.

Citing a recent Supreme Court ruling affirming that party membership is an internal affair of a political party, he said that the disciplinary committee, in line with the 2017 PDP Constitution (as amended), meticulously deliberated on the numerous infractions.

The party argued that the selections violated natural sequence as there were eligible youths and young women to fill the positions.

The committee’s recommendations read in part:“Recognition that the so named infractions violated key sections of the 2017 PDP Constitution (as amended), including sections 58(1)-(a)(b)(d)(e)(g)(i).

“Adoption of the penalty as outlined in Section 59(1)(d) of the 2017 PDP Constitution (as amended) in response to the violations”.
