Chief Benjamin Obi, a stalwart of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has called on Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, to immediately sack a list of serving Commissioners.

Chief Obi who is a cousin to the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi described the listed commissioners as “non performing commissioners”
The man popularly known as ‘Igwe APGA’ (interpreted as APGA’ monarch) said that Gov Soludo needs to lay off no fewer than 80 percent of his serving commissioners and advisers and bring on board fresh hands.

Similarly, Obi recommended that the entire 21 incumbent Council Chairmen and councilors in the State need to be replaced in the build up to the August 29, 2026 Council election in the State.
According to him, the party in the State do not lack human capacity for any assignment at any time, noting that there were too many qualified hands on the queue.
Chief Obi said that the sack of non performing commissioners and Council Chairmen and Councillors who have always stated that they were not getting anything from the position they occupy will enhance productivity as new faces would bring new ideas and zeal to the Solution Government.
“This in turn will enhance the reward system of the party. So many Mayors failed abysmally and allowing them to continue is to enthrone mediocrity,” he said.
High Chief Obi also stressed the need for the LGA election aspirants’ screening panels in all local government areas, to be trained and given appropriate guidelines to make sure that aspiring Council Chairmen and Councillors are true APGA faithful and are qualified without questionable certificates.
