After confirming the death of Mrs Shimitte Love, Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Trade and Export, the Delta State Police Command has commenced investigation to unravel the circumstances leading to her death.

Though the circumstances leading to her death are still unknown  at the time of filing this report, there are fingers pointing to her husband, Pastor Love, as being behind Shimitte’s death.

The Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed Shimitte’s death, adding that she was confirmed dead at a hospital she was taken to.

Odafe said her husband was not arrested but taken into protective custody, just as he also added that an autopsy is to be conducted to ascertain what led to Shimitte’s demise.

“We didn’t arrest her husband. He is in protective custody. The husband was the one who called to say that his wife died early this morning, that he is receiving threats from the wife’s family and that there is fear that they want to attack him.

“It was based on that ground that we went to his house and got him out. However, the family came this morning to lodge an official complaint against the husband that they suspect that it was the husband that killed her. So, on that ground, we are still investigating.

“In cases like this, it is only an autopsy that will determine whether it was natural or if there was something else,” the state police spokesperson added.
