Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a 50-year-old man, Umar Sule, from Kariya in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state after allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter multiple times, resulting in her pregnancy.
The shocking incident reportedly occurred while the victim’s mother was away visiting her parents in Burra, Ningi Local Government Area. Following the mother’s return, she noticed her daughter’s pregnancy, prompting the victim to disclose the horrifying truth.
A medical examination has since confirmed the victim is three months pregnant and that her father is the biological parent.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Bauchi Command, CSP Ahmed Wakil, who confirmed the arrest of the man on the morning of Friday, 11 April, 2025, said stated that both Mr. Sule and his daughter are currently being held for questioning. He further revealed that “the duo confessed to the crime.”
“Thereafter, on the return of her mother, she observed the victim was pregnant and questioned her who was responsible for that. The victim disclosed that it was her biological father.” CSP Wakil said
The state police image-maker added that the Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed that the case be thoroughly investigated and subsequently charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
