Police, School Confirm Abduction Of Students In Niger State

Dare devil terrorists struck in the early morning of Friday, 21 November, 2025 at the St Mary’s Primary and Secondary School, Papiri Niger State abducting pupils and teachers of the school and critically wounding a security guard.

The invasion which started at about 1am continued till about 3am when the fully armed terrorists left the premises with the abducted victims.

Father Jatau Luka Joseph, Diocesan Secretary of the Catholic Diocese of Kontagora, who confirmed the development, condemned the abduction and expressed hope for the safe return of the victims.

The Niger State Police Command has also confirmed the Abduction. The command’s spokesman, SP W. Abiodun confirmed  that on 21st November, 2025 at about 2.00am, report received indicated that some armed bandits invaded St. Mary’s Private (Catholic) Secondary School, Papiri Agwara LGA and abducted a yet to be ascertained number of students from the dchool’s hostel.

Abiodun who said tactical teams have been deployed for rescue operations, said, “the incident will be investigated and necessary action will be taken against the school management for continuing academic activities, contrary to the State government directive on closure of schools in the area due to security challenges.”

He urged members of the to support security operations to rescue the students.
