The Ilupeju secretariat of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area of Lagos was agog with singing, dancing happy people on Monday, 16 June, 2025, reports thegazellenews.com
It was the graduation and presentation of start-up working tools for 148 residents of the council area who have graduated from various vocational trainings put in place by the Rasak Ajala-led administration.

Thegazellenews.com reports further that the beneficiaries with their relatives were full of joy and pride praising and praying for the council Chairman, Honourable Rasaq Olusola Ajala.

“God will continue to bless Ajala for us. He has shown that he is true lover of the people. Throughout his tenure in office, he has committed himself to creating wealth for the people.
“He has been a symbol of teaching people how to fish rather than giving them pieces of fish to eat. He has ensure deliverance of dividends of democracy even to our doorsteps. God will continue to bless him and his entire household,” many of the beneficiaries who spoke to thegazellenews.com said.

Speaking at the event, Ajala expressed gratitude to the people for their support for his administration. He also sought their indulgence to extend such support for his Vice, Seyi Jakande who will vie for the Chairmanship seat of the council on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I’m so happy that you acknowledge the people-oriented programmes of our administration in the last eight years. I’m also assuring you that these programmes will not die because I’m no longer in office.
“However, if you don’t want our programmes to die, please vote for Seyi Jakande. He has been my co-pilot for the last eight years and he knows the nitty gritty of these programmes, hence he is well qualified to carry on the mantle from where I must have left it,” Ajala, who is the Secretary General of Conference 57, umbrella organisation for council Chairmen in Lagos said.

One hundred and forty eight people graduated and were presented with start-up working tools at the event.
The breakdown is as follows: Fabric-making, 46; Make up, 42; Catering, 31; Shoe-making 11; and Home Essentials 18
