The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) has dismissed the petition of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) saying the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima was not qualified to contest, reports thegazellenews.com.

The Tribunal Chairman, Justice Tsammani stated that the petition is a pre-election matter hence APM has no locus standi to institute the matter.

Justice Tsammani stated that the APM case lacks merit.

“Case of disqualification of Shettima to contest as running mate to Bola Tinubu is a pre-election issue, therefore incompetent and accordingly struck out. Besides, the Presidential candidate picks his Running Mate, according to the law. This petition lacks no merit whatsoever,” the Tribunal Chairman said.
