A Lagos State High Court on Wednesday, 3 December, 2025, arraigned Mr. Emmanuel Oghenerue for the alleged unlawful defilement of a 16-year-old girl (name withheld).
According to the charge, the incident occurred on May 14, 2024, at Sugar Pot Hotel Garden, Phase 1, Elepete, Igbo-Olomu, Ikorodu, Lagos.
Oghenerue is accused of engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with the minor, an offence said to be contrary to Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to all counts when the charge was read to him.
However, the prosecution informed the court that it intends to call five witnesses to establish its case when trial begins on January 26, 2026.
