The Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Honorable Rasaq Olusola Ajala, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Muslims worldwide on the occasion of the birth of the Great Prophet Muhammad (Eid-Maulid).

In his message to the residents of the LCDA, Hon Ajala stated: “I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to Muslims worldwide as we celebrate the Eid-Maulid, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad.”

He emphasised the significance of this occasion: “This event marks the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, a time for all Muslims to reflect on his teachings of love, compassion, peace, and unity within the Muslim community (Ummah).

“It is imperative that Muslims across the globe embrace his teachings of tolerance, kindness, love, and peace, as espoused by this Great Prophet.

“This occasion should serve as a reminder to display love and empathy towards all fellow humans, in line with the teachings of this Great Prophet.”

He urged the Muslim Community in the LCDA to not limit the virtues of Prophet Muhammad to only fellow Muslims but to extend them to every member of the community.

“I encourage the Muslim community to demonstrate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad not only to fellow Muslims but also to the entire community.”

“As we celebrate the birth of the Prophet today, let us extend our love, compassion, and peace to the people of the community, just as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad,” Ajala said.

He also took the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the well-being of the residents and good governance.

“I want to reiterate my commitment to the well-being of our people, assuring them that I will continue to work towards fulfilling our campaign promises and delivering good governance to the residents of our LCDA.

“We recognise the need to provide support to the vulnerable members of our LCDA due to the rising cost of commodities resulting from the removal of petroleum subsidies. This support will be provided soon.

“We have also finalized plans to support local entrepreneurs and SMEs in our LCDA, thereby boosting their businesses and creating employment opportunities, which will reduce unemployment in our community,” the Odiolowo/Ojuwoye LCDA boss said.

He also called on residents of the council area to fulfill their civic duties by paying their taxes and rates to the government, ensuring the successful execution of planned projects and programmes.

“I appeal to the residents of the LCDA to fulfill their obligations by paying taxes and rates, enabling us to deliver on our promises and provide more democratic dividends.

“It is also crucial that we maintain our environment by utilising the services of PSP for waste disposal, as improper dumping has caused flooding and road damage, incurring significant costs,” the council Chairman said.

He concluded by offering prayers for the well-being of the people of the LCDA, the state, and the nation at large.

“May this occasion bring you all the warmth and happiness you need,” he prayed.
