A real estate development firm, Abuja Technology Village Free Zone Company Limited, has cautioned the Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, foreign investors, and others, against encroaching on its property.
Chief Yohana Dyelkop, the company’s Managing Director, made this known at a news conference in Abuja on Thursday, 24 July, 2025.
He said that this was necessitated by media reports that the minister had sealed an agreement with foreign investors to develop 200 hectares of land in the Abuja Technology Village.
While acknowledging the minister’s genuine efforts to attract foreign investment, Dyelkop said it was expedient to clarify that Abuja Technology Village has numerous plots across various districts.
He said that although the details of the agreement were not yet available to him, this should not include his own properties — Plots 22 and 23, C17, Industrial Area 2.
According to the real estate mogul, such action will be unlawful and tantamount to contempt of court because there is a pending restraining order on them from the Federal High Court.
“Any attempts to develop or transact on these plots without resolving the ongoing legal issues would be in contempt of court.
“We urge the general public, foreign investors, and any interested parties to exercise caution and due diligence when engaging with any plots within the Abuja Technology Village.
“Abuja Technology Village Free Zone Company Limited remains committed to developing the Abuja Technology Village in accordance with the law and best practices,” he said.
Dyelkop stressed that the company would continue to protect its own interests, as well as the interests of stakeholders while ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
