The state sector commander of FRSC made this disclosure to newsmen in Benin City, the state capital.
According to him, 15 passengers were killed in January, 18 in February, 14 in March, 4 in April, 5 in May while 19 died in June.

He attributed most of the accidents to break failure, overspending, dangerous driving, use of phone, route violation among others by drivers.
Mathew said the Command has stepped up campaigns across the state to sensitize motorists on the need to imbibe safety culture on the road to ensure the safety of passengers and pedestrians.
While stating that the campaigns are part of efforts aimed at changing the road crash narrative in the state, he however, warned motorists against over-loading, drunk driving, night driving, use of the phone and over-speeding for their safety and that of the passengers.
The state sector commander of FRSC called on stakeholders to work together with the corps to ensure zero road traffic crashes in the state.
