The incumbent and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hope Uzodimma, has been declared the winner of the Imo State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The election took place throughout the state on Saturday, 11 November, 2023.
INEC Returning Officer for Imo State Governorship Election, Prof Abayomi Fashina, announced Uzodimma as the winner after the collation of the full results on Sunday, 12 November, 2023.
According to Professor Fasina, the candidate of the APC scored 540,308 votes.
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, who came second, polled a total vote of 71,503, while that of the Labour Party, LP, Senator Athan Achonu came third position with 64,081 votes.
