The Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Buba Umar in Bauchi, has distributed over 21, 000 bags of Semovita to residents of his Senatorial District and other Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Bauchi State to cushion the effect of the current hardship in the country.
This gesture is coming after the Senator doled out N10,000 cash and a bag of Semovita to 1000 Women in Federal Lowcost Juma’at Mosque in order to cushion the effect of the current hardship being faced by the people.
Senator Buba while distributing the food items to the people of the 20 LGAs in Bauchi State over the weekend told Nigerians that the hard times being faced will soon be over following the successes being recorded by the federal government to improve the economy.
He said the current economic hardship is being tackled from different dimension including the distribution of palliatives, which he used to do severally not only to the people of his constituency but to the entire people of the State.
According to him, “the Federal Government had to a large extent been able to stabilize the exchange rate of the national currency against others thereby improving imports and exports”.
He said very soon as “Senator that represent Bauchi North Senatorial District Sama’ila Dahuwa will soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC) because he resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)”, calling on the remaining Senator that represent Bauchi Central Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi “to please dump PDP and join APC so that we can team up and move the State and the country forward”.
Senator Buba appreciated the peaceful conduct of members of his constituency which he said has also assisted the ruling APC government in the state “in delivering dividends of democracy to them”.
He solicited for the continued cooperation of the people with the government at all levels, stressing that “without peace there cannot be meaningful development”.
The State Organising Secretary of the APC who is the Chairman of the Distribution Committee, Alhaji Abdulkadir Gyangyan commended Senator Buba for always reaching out to his constituents, saying ” You have reduced hunger among our people”.
Abdulkadir said the committee plans to distribute the commodity 1000 bags of Semovita to the seven local Government areas of Bauchi, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Bogoro, Toro, Alkaleri and Kirfi Local government areas where the Senator represents, and the remaining 13 local Government areas each will receive 500 bags while the remaining will be distributed to Party officials in the Zonal and State offices, Political organisations and some individuals and Associations.
APC stalwart, Alhaji Aminu Muhammad Danmalikin Bauchi told constituents to pray for the success of Senator Shehu Buba to enable him succeed because he is the only Senator that is doing his best to support his constituents in all aspects of life.
“He sponsored 500 students to study physical and environmental sciences in Malikiyya college, he also sponsored many to study within and outside the country,” Danmaliki added.
Islamic cleric who witnessed the distribution, Dr Usman Giade urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the commodity and pray to Allah to reward the Senator for the gesture.
Many beneficiaries interviewed thanked the Senator for coming to their aid and for his numerous assistance .
They said the food item will reduce their hardship, and appealed to other Political office holders to emulate Senator Shehu Buba as part of effort to make the State and the country great.
