Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has announced the death of her husband and Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, Michael Ndika, bringing an outpouring of reactions from fans and industry stakeholders.

The singer disclosed the development on Wednesday, 20 May, 2026 through a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram story, where she reflected on their 13-year marriage with photographs and personal tributes.

In one of the posts, the ‘Maradona’ crooner wrote, “God took him. God took him. 13 years. 13 fucking years,” expressing grief over the loss of her husband.

In another post, she simply wrote, “My husband died,” while additional messages shared on her page conveyed deep anguish over the tragedy.

Although Niniola did not disclose the cause of death, the announcement quickly drew widespread reactions across social media, with fans, colleagues and followers sending condolences to the singer and her family.
