In a major political development, Hon. Oluwole Oke, a six-term member of the House of Representatives representing the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending his decade-long affiliation with the opposition party.

The lawmaker made the announcement public on Wednesday, 23 April, 2025. His resignation letter, dated Wednesday, 16 April, 2025, was addressed to the PDP Chairman in Ward 7, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.
“I have resigned from the PDP,” Oke confirmed in a brief statement.
While the letter did not disclose his next political destination, Oke noted that his decision came after extensive consultations with political associates, friends, and family members. He also called on his supporters and loyalists to exit the party and await further directives.
Oke’s departure marks a significant shift in the political landscape of Osun State. Known for his long-standing legislative experience, his exit is expected to have a notable impact on the PDP’s influence in the region.
