The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, 26 October, 2023, congratulated President  Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the Supreme Court on the suits filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate,Alhaji  Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party(LP) counterparts, Mr Peter Obi, challenging his victory in the presidential elections held early this year.

Chairman of the Party in the state, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi,  in a statement by his Media Aide, Mrs Bola Akingbehin, described the judgment as the elixir  the nation needed now to move forward in its quest to give Africa and the Black race the right direction.

Ojelabi commended the Justices of the Supreme Court (JSC), led by Distinguished Justice John I.Okoro, who delivered the landmark judgment describing them as men of courage, integrity and honour who have through their professional competences put the nation on the path of greatness and success.

He encouraged members of the Bar and the Bench to continue emulating these Justices as role models in the discharge of their duties so that the judiciary, which is the last hope of the people would always live above board.

Pastor Ojelabi in the statement also implored  Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr Peter Obi to forget personal ambitions and selfish interests  and join hands with the President in the task of moving the nation forward.

He admonished them that it is God that always puts anyone He loves in a position of authority and as such called on them to see the election of PresidentTinubu as divinely ordained.

The Lagos APC Chairman reminded them to keep Nigeria strong and make her occupy her prime position in the comity of nations is a task that requires all and sundry to be focused, United and honesty.

He advised the leaders to put national interests and patriotism above personal or political interests because  as he said, ‘Nigeria as a nation is bigger than any individual or political party.

“We are first and foremost Nigerians before joining any political party or any faith-based organisations. Nigerians must first defend and protect their country,” he said.

Pastor Ojelabi also rejoiced with Nigerians on the judicial feat achieved by President Bola Tinubu today at the Supreme Court urging them to continue supporting both the Federal and the Lagos State Governments by remaining law abiding citizens at all times.
