The Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Seyi Lawal Jakande, has presented the proposed 2026 Budget, themed ‘Budget of Sustainability’ to the Legislative Arm of the Council on Monday, 15 December, 2025.
Jakande emphasized that the budget reflects transparency, accountability, and a commitment to inclusive development.

“Today marks another milestone in our collective journey to strengthen governance, deepen development, and advance the wellbeing of the good people of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA,” he said. “Sustainability is not a destination—it is a journey. Together, let us take bold steps today so that generations after us will walk on the solid foundation we build.”
The proposed budget for 2026 stands at ₦16.105 billion representing a strategic increase from the previous year’s ₦14.6 billion.
Personnel Cost: ₦3.279 billion (20.36%)
Recurrent Expenditure: ₦5.570 billion (34.58%)
Capital Expenditure: ₦7.255 billion (45.06%)
Funding sources include Federal Statutory Allocation, Value Added Tax (VAT), Electronic Money Transfer Levy, Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), and other FAAC inflows.
Jakande reaffirmed that the budget priorities align with the HEWA Agenda, which focuses on: Health & Environmental Sustainability;Education & Empowerment; Works & Security; and Agriculture, Tourism & Culture.
He highlighted achievements in 2025, including infrastructure upgrades, medical outreach, school support programs, sports initiatives, and cultural heritage celebrations. He called for legislative scrutiny and collaboration to ensure the budget delivers measurable benefits, stating:
“This presentation is not just a statutory duty – it is a demonstration of our unwavering commitment to building a community where opportunities are expanded,” he said.`
After receiving the budget, Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Lekan Adeyi, expressed confidence in the proposal, saying: “This budget reflects the aspirations of our people, and we will give it the thorough consideration it deserves.”
