President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, to present the Federal Government’s Reforms Scorecard, detailing the achievements, costs and impact of the administration’s economic reforms since 2023.
The President gave the directive on Wednesday, 19 August, 2026, as his administration prepares to present the scorecard to Nigerians, outlining what the reforms have achieved, what they have cost and the greater costs and harms the government says were prevented by taking difficult decisions.
Tinubu said the exercise was aimed at giving Nigerians a clearer understanding of the figures, policy choices, progress recorded and the work that remained in the government’s reform agenda.
The President recalled that when the administration began its reform journey in 2023, he had promised that the difficult decisions being taken would ultimately help build an economy that works better for Nigerians and a stronger country for future generations.
He said the scorecard would provide Nigerians with an account of the government’s stewardship and enable them to assess the impact of the reforms on their families, businesses and the wider economy.
Tinubu therefore directed Oyedele to explain the numbers, the choices made by the administration, the progress recorded and the challenges that remain.
He stressed that Nigerians deserved access to the figures and a clear explanation of what had changed as a result of the reforms.
According to him, the people also deserved to understand what the policies meant for their families, businesses and the country as a whole.
The President described the presentation as an account to Nigerians, stressing that the reforms were being undertaken in the interest of the country.
“This is your government.
“This is your country.
“This is our account to you,” he said.
The Reforms Scorecard will be presented through a livestream on the official State House YouTube channel, with Nigerians expected to receive detailed explanations of the government’s economic decisions, achievements, costs and outstanding challenges.
Tinubu said the presentation would provide an opportunity for Nigerians to see the numbers and understand the broader implications of the reforms being implemented by his administration.
The livestream is scheduled to be available on the official State House YouTube channel,
