President Bola Tinubu on Monday, 22 December, 2025 fulfilled his promise to reward the Super Eagles with houses and land following their performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Nigerian football governing body, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed on Monday, 22 December, 2025 that players of the national team have received certificates for the housing units and plots of land promised by President Bola Tinubu.
The documents, according to the NFF, were presented to the players at the Super Eagles’ camp in Fez, Morocco.
Thegazellenews.com recalled that Nigeria finished as runners-up at the tournament, which was held in Côte d’Ivoire and concluded in 2024, after losing 2–1 to the host nation in the final.

After the team’s return from the competition, President Tinubu hosted the players at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he honoured each member of the squad with the national award of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
At the reception, the President also announced the allocation of a plot of land in the Federal Capital Territory and a housing unit to every player, in recognition of their efforts and commitment at the continental tournament.
